Obituary of Josephine "Josie" Gore

Josie Gore passed away on September 24, 2023 at the age of 87.  Her beloved husband of 63 years, Larry, predeceased her in 2019.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen, son-in-law Richard, grandson, Matthew and his wife, Rebecca, grandson Douglas and his fiancee, Shannon, her brother, Gerard and his wife, Nancy and brother-in-law, George.  Josie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Josie was born and raised in Brooklyn and they moved to Woodhaven, Queens where she resided for 60 years.

After a long career as an Executive Assistant on Wall Street and then as Marketing Manager at a bank, she enjoyed an active retirement.  Josie loved to cook, travel and spend time with family and friends.  She had a great passion for her Italian heritage sharing stories and contributing to 3 books.

Josie will be dearly missed and remembered for her generous spirit, quick wit, sense of humor and her storytelling.

Visitation will be on Thursday at Fairchild Sons, Manhasset from 8am-9:45am.  Funeral Mass will follow that morning at 10:15am St. Mary's Church, 1300 Northern Blvd., Manhasset.  Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington , NY.
