I was so fortunate to know Mrs. Arkwright as my good friend Jan's Mom back in 1980 (and the years to follow) when we spent some of the best 4 years of our lives at Bishop Kearney High School. I loved walking over to Bedford Avenue from East 23rd Street whether it to be for schoolwork or just to visit, always offering a meal, enjoying the laughter from both Mr. and Mrs. Arkwright who treated me like a third daughter. Although visits became less frequent over the years as we got older and moved to different areas, I was happy that Mr. and Mrs. Arkwright moved out to Long Island to be closer to Jan and Jill. I know Mrs. Arkwright's legacy lives on forever in the girls and those precious grandchildren. My condolences, prayers, and love gonout to you, Mr. Arkwright, Janny❤️, Jill, and extended family. No words will express our deep love & affection for our Aunt Jo! Her loving influences will follow us throughout our lives. Our loss is heavens gain. I will never hear “Donna Marie” without thinking of my dear aunt! Aunt Jo & Uncle Richard welcomed my George from day 1 & he became a “Reda” immediately, for better or worse…..Aunt Jo adored my daughters, Danielle, Lindsey & Allison & needless to say the feelings were mutual. Even though grown no visit back home was complete without a a visit to see Aunt Jo! Family was a priority for Aunt Jo & I’m happy to say that we’re blessed to follow her example! We love you Aunt Jo, we’ll miss you but know you’ll be remembered every day… hugs & kisses to our Uncle Richard & my fabulous cousins Jan & Jill ❤️

Josephine, I will never forget all the good and hard times that I shared with you and your family on Bedford Avenue, and the holiday meals you always sent across the street. You and Richard were such a strong example to all of us, as well as Grandma Frances and your wonderful daughters, Jan and Jill. Your strong Catholic faith inspired all who knew and loved you. Now, I am sure that you are in the arms of our heavenly Father, enjoying the rewards of a life well lived. My thoughts and prayers are with Richard, the girls and the extended family and friends who were with you during your life on earth. God bless.
