To The Family of Marty Gately from Joe (&Elaine) Beccalori on behalf of all of Marty's Flushing Armory NY National Guard "Band of Brothers." We extend our sincere condolences on Marty's sad passing. We all had a wonderful six years in the Guard with Marty and had hundreds of fond memories of our times there. We also kept together socially after our service and had many terrific reunions with the guys and wives. Marty will be missed greatly along with the other members of the group we have lost. We hope to share our great memories of Marty and Mary Ellen at our next lunch meet. May Marty rest in peace and may God's Blessings be with the Gately Family at this sad time. Marty and Kevin, Donald and Richard were inseparable playmates during their grade school years in the Northeast Bronx. They roamed Seton Falls Park, had many chestnut on a string contests and through the generosity of our parents spent vacations at Lake Placid in the winter and Speculator, NY in the summer. Marty was adventuresome and courageous. I remember him standing up to an older bully type at Speculator when Kevin and I were less enthused. We all knew each other’s birthdays and I still do. In recent years, Marty would call my brother and I on our birthdays. It was a wonderful time in our lives and an unusually good group friendship with which we were gifted. Bless you Marty. You and your family are in my heart and prayers. Richard Maiberger
