Though I lost contact with Ernest over the last 10 years, I remember him as a true professional, keeping a wonderful sense of humor and an admirable perspective on life.

Ernie was larger than life at St Paul’s. From his beautifully written obituary, I can see that he lived ardently in his adult life as well. What an accomplishing individual! Such a tragic loss! I am so sorry for you who were close to him. In time, I hope you can replace your sorrow with the joy Ernie showed for life. Blessings on his Remembrance Day!

I’m so sorry to hear this. Ernie and I were good friends during our early teens in Panama City FL. I have so many fond memories of our times in Montana, PC and the Bahamas. He was a friend when I needed one. Peace to Ernie’s family

Shirley and I had the privilege in joining Ernest, Uncle Gary and a couple of Coco’s friends on a trip to Belarus for the Federation Cup, which Coco pretty much single-handily won for the USA. Ernest made sure everyone was in full USA regalia from head to toe. Great fun with him leading the charge and the rest of us waving our flags and cheering loudly. Ernest made sure that we were all taken care of with full restaurant visits and sights to see. His love for life was only exceeded by how much he cared for other people and his incredible generosity. We all were fortunate to have experienced some of that wonderful care. The trip will be a lifetime memory. Ernest, you will greatly be missed.

I will always remember our childhood days together, and wrestling and playing tennis with Big E at LVHS!! Always made everyone laugh, and not take themselves too seriously. God bless you my good friend

Ernest is my sister, Margaret Scalamandre’s brother in law. I hadn’t seen him in many years but I do remember him as a very tall and handsome man with great charm. He will be missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace Ernest.

Earnie was a true friend and the nicest guy you will ever meet. I remember one time before a high school wrestling practice I jokingly said to Ernie there is no way you could beat me and my friend Howard at the same time in wrestling.well he did no problem. and he did it in a way that he knew not to hurt us.it was fun to watch Earnie dominate his opponents on the wrestling mat that were not even in his league . I will miss you . Just the nicest guy you will ever meet. Adam kibel
