Obituary of James Pi

Born in Shanghai, James Pi, 77, passed away the morning of November 2nd, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife, Katy, proud children, Jennifer (“Jen”), and Jerry and his wife Grace, and James’ grandchildren, Lianna, Selina, and Jameson. 

James attended the National Taiwan Ocean University, receiving his degree in shipping and transportation, followed by service in the Taiwan Navy. He married his wife, Katy in 1972, and together they moved to the States and established and built several businesses across various categories. His biggest dream was achieved by the creation of Victoria Cruises, a river cruise on China's Yangtze River, introducing and bringing the beauty of the Yangtze and Chinese culture to people from all corners of the world.

As a loving family man, and devoted community member, James endeavored to live a life pursuing his dreams, no matter how big or small. He believed in putting your all into everything, and giving back to the community and to causes close to his heart. 

James will be missed tremendously and he will live in our hearts forever. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made “In Memory of James Pi” to the Garden of Hope, or Nassau County Museum of Art.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 12th at Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, New York, 11030.

我們所敬愛的畢東江先生(James Pi)慟於2023年11月2日與世長辭，離開了他所摯愛的家人及朋友，享壽七十七歲。葬禮擇於11月12日採私人儀式舉行，懇謝各界關懷。

畢東江先生祖籍浙江寧波，出生於上海，在國家動亂時期去到了台灣，就讀國立台灣海洋大學航運管理系，於1972年移居美國，並建立了許多不同類別的企業。他最大的夢想是透過創立維多利亞遊輪來實現中國長江遊船夢，介紹並展現長江之美，將中國文化傳播給世界各地的人們。作為一位充滿愛心的家庭男人和忠誠的社區成員，畢東江先生努力追求自己的夢想，不論夢想大小。他的工作是他一生的熱情，為後代奠定了堅實的基礎。他對他的事業總是全力以赴並時常回饋社區。我們將非常懷念畢東江先生，他的精神將永遠活在我們心中，我們會深深地以他為榮。
