I am so incredibly sorry to hear of the passing of Peter. I have so many great memories of our childhood hanging on Murray Ave with the Gold family. We had so much fun. I will never forget those days, and know what a fighter he was. Rest in Peace. Stay strong Smith family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. All the best, Michele Gibbons aka.Michele Horn

Rest easy, Pete. I remember you well from the days as kids on Murray Avenue. Always with a smile and a laugh. Prayers to all.

So many memories of Peter and growing up on Murray Avenue with the Smith Family. The one that stands out the most is how Peter helped my father with projects around the house. He and Paul Oleksiw even traveled to Connecticut to work on that house after our family moved. My father called them the "Righteous Brothers" in honor of their excellent work.

Peter was always one of my favorites. He had an infectious smile and loved his extended friendships. From the early Plandome junior golf days when Jeannie would assign him to chaperone my group every week (which was probably not the right decision) to running into him at Loyola a few years ago when Penn was scrimmaging Loyola, it warmed my heart when I heard someone yell "Billy Reilly" from the stands. As I turned to see who it was Peter was running down the bleachers with that big smile and met me with a huge hug. It's people like Peter that inspire others to embrace the good and the challenges in life with a positive attitude and a smile. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to call him my friend!

I was lucky to get to know Pete in a special way the past couple of years. Always loved how proud he was of his family. How he gushed about their accomplishments on and off the field. And of Rina and how great she was doing in her career. Loved that about him. So many people have approached me about what a great coach he was for their girls. Always bringing positive energy. I saw that energy manifest in the way of a much needed hug or word of encouragement many times. It is a beautiful legacy for a life ended far too short. God Bless Rina, Olivia and Natalie. Love and prayers with you always.
