Obituary of Michelle P. O'Connor
Michelle P. (Lovrencic) O’Connor, of Manhasset, New York passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2024. Michelle was born in Park Ridge, Illinois on June 17, 1966 to Sofija and Paul Lovrencic and was raised in Crystal Lake.
She was the beloved wife of Raymond O’Connor, loving mother of Katica Hope, Sava Raymond James, and Stevan Daniel Sullivan, adored sister to Sue Ann (Richard) Seiler, aunt to Jacob (Debra), Lucas, and Zachary, dear daughter-in-law of Tisha O’Connor, sister-in-law to Patricia O'Connor, Thomas O’Connor, and Maureen (Thomas) Mansfield, and aunt to Maggie, Tara, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law, Raymond J. O'Connor.
Michelle met the love of her life, Ray, at Northwestern University, and they were married in Evanston, Illinois in 1990. They then moved to London, England, where she received her MBA at London Business School. She loved her time in London and had fond memories of their apartment and life in Hampstead Heath.
They eventually settled in Manhasset, New York where Michelle had a successful career working in Investment Banking at Unterberg Towbin and Credit Suisse. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and was especially fond of the 7:30am Sunday masses.
Michelle enjoyed spending time laughing and making memories with cherished family and friends. She appreciated everything in life, especially cooking for her family, snowboarding, practicing yoga, and spending summers with loved ones in Quogue. Michelle could always be found in the sun: in Manhasset, in Quogue, in Florida, and more.
Michelle raised her children with the same passion she had for everything else in life. She was so excited when Hope and James followed in her footsteps by attending Northwestern, and you could always find her in the stands on parents weekend, decked out in purple and cheering her heart out. She loved watching Daniel play lacrosse, and even streamed it on her phone when she could not attend in person. She often told her children to “drink deep the cup of life... For it passes round the table only once.” — Jack McDevitt. Honoring Michelle is to live life to its fullest.
Her family is thankful for all the love and support. A wake will be held from 3-9pm on Tuesday, April 2nd, at Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel in Manhasset. The funeral mass will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, April 3rd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manhasset, with a reception to follow at North Hempstead Country Club 291 Port Washington Blvd, Flower Hill.
