Obituary of John L. Lewis

John Layton Lewis (December 9th, 1958 - April 4th, 2024) was a beloved father, brother, uncle as well as a dear friend to so many in his home town of Port Washington. He served in the Port Washington Fire Department for 47 years and was a retired sergeant from the NYC Police Department. He was a hockey coach to many children of Port Washington and many people in town  know him as a kind, compassionate and friendly face.  He helped so many in their times of need and was a man of service to others. John had a special place in his heart for drill racing, Islanders hockey,  shooting the breeze and corvettes. He is survived by his three sons, Robert, Kyle and Eric Lewis along with his brother Edwin Lewis and sisters JenAnn Fideli and Susan Pardi. He will be forever missed and loved by so many.
