Obituary of John Clark Cairney
John Clark Cairney, aged 85, of Nokomis , Fla, Bayside, Queens and most of all, Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday , April 12th.
Born in Brooklyn on New Years Eve, 1938, the son of Peter and Elizabeth Cairney (nee Clark). Husband of Patricia (nee Dillon). Father of Peter Cairney (Anna), Patricia Jensen (Joseph), and Kathleen Navas (Steven). Grandfather to Joseph, Nicole, Devin, Victoria, Erin, Laurel, Jamie, John, Brendan and Grace. Predeceased by brother James, sisters Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth.
Attended Rice and Westinghouse High Schools. Served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne in 1956-'57. Was a butcher for 32 years before venturing into a new career in real estate. He cherished time spent with his family at the lake house built with his own hands at Trout Lake in Diamond Point, NY. A great storyteller. Amazing dancer. Even more amazing head of hair.
A lifelong fan of the NY Giants; was immensely proud of the fact that he snuck into every game he attended from 1955- 1966.
He will be missed by all
