Obituary of Elaine Mary Lulka

Elaine Lulka was born in Brooklyn to Joseph and Mary Kosciewicz. A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, she received a B.A. from Queen's College in 1954, an M.A. in 1956, and an Ed.D. from St. John's University in 1976. A born teacher, Elaine started as a student teacher at P.S. 200 in Flushing, Queens (The Pomonok School) and finished her career there as Principal in 1995. She was a lecturer at Queens College, a member of the the N.Y.C. Elementary School Principals Association, and the National Council of Administrative Women in Education; the Council of Supervisors and Administrators of the City of New York; and the Protestant, Jewish, and Catholic teachers association. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Women's Club of Bellerose. She married Frederick Lulka in 1956, and they remained married until his death in 1988. She is survived by two sons, and five grandchildren.
