Obituary of Tyler Godfrey

William “Tyler” Godfrey, 20, passed away on April 22nd, 2024. He was born March 18th, 2004 in Manhasset, NY where he grew up with three siblings. A graduate of Manhasset High School, he excelled as a student-athlete, playing lacrosse and running cross country. He later went on to attend the University of South Carolina.

A gift to all who knew him, Tyler was a true source of pure light, always placing others above himself. An adored son, proud brother, exceptional friend and teammate. He was a fierce competitor whose work ethic and commitment were infectious, yet balanced beautifully by his kind, easy-going nature. Tyler led by example and was always the first to offer a helping hand to those in need. Blessed with a quick-witted humor, one of his greatest joys was making others laugh. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and comforted.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Mark and Whitney Godfrey (Baugher), older brother Owen, younger sisters Grace and Piper along with his extended family and fur family.

A wake will be held at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home on  Thursday May 9th from 4:00-8:00pm, and a funeral service will be held on Friday May 10th at 3:00pm at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset.
