Juan (Johnny) Lopez Laureano of Manhasset, NY, beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather passed away on May 14, 2024 at age 89. Johnny was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 24, 1934 to Rosa Laureano and Francisco Lopez. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maria, his children, Juan Lopez Malgor and daughter-in-law Nicole Lopez and Rosa Sarlanis (Lopez) and son-in-law Michael Sarlanis, grandchildren Nicholas, Lucas, Thomas, David and Gabriela, his brother Octavio Rosas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and six siblings.
Johnny was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and joined the Army at a very young age and served our country in Korea before retiring from active duty. After retiring from the Army he met his one and only wife, Maria and began a family in Puerto Rico. When his children were grown and started their adult lives he and Maria moved to Florida to be closer to them. Ultimately relocating to Manhasset to be close to his grandchildren.
Johnny loved to travel and could tell you endless stories about the wonderful parts of the world he visited. He had no greater joy in life than to be around his family, especially his grandchildren and was able to enjoy that extensively. He was always smiling and willing to talk for hours. Johnny always gave his everything to his friends and family with a big smile and good spirit.
Johnny will be missed by so many.
