Obituary of Claire P. Buhr

Claire P. Buhr, 84, of Manhasset, NY, passed away on May 14, 2024. She was born on September 27, 1939, in Nyack, NY. Claire was a beloved Kindergarten Teacher in North Shore Schools out of college before retiring to raise her family in Manhasset, NY.  She was active in the Manhasset Community and at the Port Washington Yacht Club where her and her husband Arthur were regular fixtures on their boat Time Out.  In recent years she battled Alzheimer's which she succumbed to after an over 14 year battle.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Gammon; son, Arthur H. Buhr III; son-in-law, Scott Gammon; daughter-in-law, Ashley Buhr; grandchildren, Julia Gammon, Will Gammon, Madelyn Buhr, and Arthur (Cort) H. Buhr IV.

Claire was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Peters, and her husband, Arthur H. Buhr Jr.

Claire worshipped at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset, NY.

A wake will be held on May 20, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Fairchild and Sons in Manhasset. The Funeral Mass will take place on May 21, 2024, at 10:15 AM at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset.
