Caroline and Peter’s three daughters, I am so sorry to hear of Peter’s passing. He was a dear and wonderful cousin. I have fond memories of Peter and Caroline. My late brother Jimmy and I served as alter boys at their wedding. Also rember being the younger cousin, watching Pete and Donny playing baseball in the park near our grandmother’s house aftervSunday dinners with our grandparents and Uncle Jim and Marie’s house. Rosalie, I am sorry for your loss. Your brother was a generous man. He established a scholarship at St. Francis College after I graduated and was supportive of the Franciscans of Brooklyn. Peter also donated to my daughter’s memorial scholarship program at the Haverling School in Bath where Rebecca was a teacher.
I will miss and especially at Christmas when he and Caroline sent us lovely Christmas card pictures. We didn’t have regular contact after we moved upstate. But I will always remember the younger days growing up in such a wonderful family. Peace to the family and Rest in Peace.

Peter
An amazing man. His works of humble generosity have touched so many. He worked as diligently for his catholic charitable enterprises as he did for the successful Electrical Contracting business that he grew from a small core group of people into a multi faceted company that employed over 1200 workers. A company that was a family.
I was blessed that he chose me to work at his side throughout those years.
I have known Peter since 1977. I am proud to have had him in my life as mentor and friend. He helped me grow professionally and personally. He nurtured a talent and skill that I never knew I had. He trusted me as his CFO. And he didn’t trust too many.
I have been a privileged witness to the many acts of kindness he has done for his employees, family and friends.
I will miss our collaborations on projects and events. I will miss our arguments. I will miss his support. I will miss our morning espresso “with a shooter”. I will miss him.
My deepest condolences to his family whom he loved beyond measure.

To Caroline, Marisa, Christine and Alissa
Please accept our deepest condolences and prayers for your loss.
Richard and Maria Scarpelli
I first met Peter in 1966 at M. Eisenberg & Bros. Inc.
Peter was the General Superintendent; my brother was a V.P., and I was a new Engineer/Estimator.
Peter was a great advisor and always available to help me learn the installation part of the business.
He stressed the importance of gaining the respect of the Foremen and Key electricians.
A lesson which I learned and practiced throughout my career
He was another brother and my mentor.
During that period Maria and I came to know Peter and Caroline socially. After I left Eisenberg, we would see them occasionally at the Tiro.
We appreciated and valued their friendship.
Peter left Eisenberg and eventually formed Unity Electric. I left in 1974.
In 1990 our paths would cross again when Peter asked me to join Unity Electric as Chief Estimator and Engineer.
He wanted to grow the company and he was giving me the opportunity to grow with it.
The trust and confidence he bestowed on me were awesome as were the goals he set for the company.
In 1991 Peter gave me the responsibility of bidding the Chase Metrotech Project in Brooklyn.
His confidence and support gave me the energy to take on the largest project I ever bid.
I could not do it alone. He told me to take whoever I needed, and he would make it happen.
I choose Tom Amberger to help with the electric and he gave me Alvaro Castroagudin to help with the data. He had the guts to give us the ball and he made it happen.
The rest is History.
Thank you, Peter, for having the faith and trust in me to make it happen.
My you rest in peace, and I pray that we will meet again.
Richard

I told Peter I believed the Lord God brought us together and I am eternally grateful for that. I met Peter in 1987 after resigning from my position with another electrical contractor that I felt I could no longer continue with. Ernie Gold, a friend of Peter, told me "You should look into working for Peter." I was out of work several weeks and set up an appointment with Peter. Ernie Gold called him and gave a great recommendation. Peter not only hired me but gave me two weeks back pay. Something I will never forget. At the Unity office it was night and day compared to my previous employers office. Everyday Peter had someone bring in roll, bagels, donuts, etc with coffee, decaf, tea and hot chocolate available. At my previous employment we could not even offer a client a cup of coffee or use of a phone.
Over the many years I worked for Peter he showed his trust by allowing me to be in charge of some of his largest projects. He always compensated me very well on each project and instilled in me to do my very best. I will always be grateful for the many ways he helped my family. Even looking into and recommending a physician when a member of my family needed help.
After he sold the company we became very good friends and very much enjoyed meeting with him in his beautiful home in Naples. Just about six weeks ago, I was having expresso with him in his kitchen, with Caroline nearby. One of his last wishes was to illuminate the ball field for the Ave Maria University students through the Peter & Caroline Foundation. Years ago he generously provided lighting for the Ave Maria Sanctuary. Even as his health was failing he would call me to check the status on the Ball Field Project. He was still committed to helping and giving to others.
I will never forget him. He was a big wonderful part of my life. My prayers and heartfelt condolences to Caroline and his wonderful family.

Dear Marisa,Christine,,Alissa, and all of your family, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad’s passing. He was quite a strong person in every way and I’m sure he went out kicking! I remember him well and always enjoyed conversations about life and hard work ! One of my fondest memories was when he looked at me at the restaurant - and said , “Why did your two choose Aftica to go to , of all the places in the world ?? ‘
With a pretty serious face too! Of course I said , “ why not? We love animals ! Safari ❤️… he smiled and shook his head ! “ ok, well stay safe will you please!’
He was a good man and he will be surely missed by so many. Blessings to all of you .
Sincerest condolences to each of you .

Firstly, my sincerest sympathy to all members of Peter's family!
In 1987, I started to work for Peter (Unity Electric), as
receptionist answering numerous phone calls from the electricians out in the field. I most times prided myself in recognizing their voices; but, I especially made sure to know Peter's. He was the boss even over the phone. Steadfast and committed to his trade. But, he was also aware that we were deserving of some fun. There were Christmas parties, office parties. dinners. plays. generous bonuses, etc. All of this was a first for me and I don't think I will ever forget them. Thank you, Peter!
Over the years, I have thought of Peter and his family and today I will pray for them.
Peter, Rest in God's Love and Light!
Sincerely, Loretta Grella

Peter Striano was one of the finest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. A great American success story, he was an electrician in his 40’s with a wife and three young daughters when he took a chance and invested everything to buy a small electrical contracting company, Unity Electric. At the time, the company had two clients and five employees. Over 40 years later, Peter sold Unity to one of the largest utility companies in the world. By then, Unity had over 1,000 employees and a roster of Fortune 100 clients that his competitors envied. This was all Peter! He taught us that if you work hard and want something bad enough nothing is unobtainable.
People rarely left Unity once they started working there. This is a testament to the man in the corner office, who was always there for anything you needed. Peter built and led a team of professionals to success.
Despite his business achievements, Peter was defined by his love for his family. Peter taught us how to be better, to appreciate family, faith, and the finer things in life. He emphasized competing with respect, and that our word is our bond.
An avid golfer and consummate entertainer, Peter often said that to be successful in business, you need to have a good constitution, and he certainly did. I remember the last time we golfed together, we were teeing off, and I said: “Peter, why don’t you hit from the senior tees?” He looked at me with that Peter smile and said, “That’s for the old guys”!! …he was 82!!
The news of his passing devastated me. I never thought of life without Peter; to me he was invincible. He was elemental in my life and losing him is like losing the rain. I will miss him always.

When I met Peter early on in my career in the eighties, he was already a respected businessman. A man of integrity and dependability. He had a big personality and when he was present, he was the center of attention. He was charismatic, practical, intelligent and down-to-earth. He was a leader with a can-do attitude and was eager to explore innovative solutions to complex problems. He was a fighter and a believer. When others gave up, Peter rolled up his sleeves, engaged his trusted advisors and relentlessly tackled the challenge at hand.
Peter was a man’s man and a woman’s man. A social being that found positive in people. He was respected and revered. He cherished his family and valued those who crossed his path. He respected his customers, his employees and his management team. He never gave up the opportunity to celebrate and generously expressed his gratitude. Peter’s success was rooted in his love of life, his willingness to help and his perseverance. On numerous occasions Peter reached into his network of friends, professional network, and his doctors to aid those in need. He was a giver and everyone around and he was admired for his charitable spirit.
Peter was the consummate problem solver, showman, entertainer, diplomat and of course salesman. He was quick with a joke and loved pointing out that his success was largely due to a strong constitution and a strong liver. He led by example and walked the talk. He was the real deal.
Peter was in many ways a renaissance man. He was spiritual and free spirited. He was open to new ideas, and he embraced change. He was a student and a teacher. He appreciated simplicity and complexity, and his humble beginnings didn’t prevent him from appreciating the finer life. He was an athlete, a patron of the arts, a reader, a wine connoisseur and gifted chef. His talents were many and his hunger for life insatiable.
Peter impacted and influenced my life tremendously and I will forever be grateful for his friendship, his mentorship and his caring for me and my family.
May his memory be a blessing.

Met Peter as a friend of my boss. Enjoyed working with him to support a range of nonprofits. I was greatly impressed by his personal philanthropy and commitment to those less fortunate. Spent many evenings at charitable events with Peter and his beautiful wife Caroline, enjoying their conversation and his insights into the work of the charity raising money. He was warm, he was congenial, he was wise and he was good company. The world is a little poorer without Peter Striano in it. My condolences to his family. Mary O'Malley
