Obituary of John Patrick Gillespie

John P. Gillespie passed peacefully and entered the gates of heaven on Saturday June 22, 2024. John was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 21, 1931 to Patrick and Catherine Gillespie. The child of Irish immigrants, he was a caring son, who attended to his parents needs throughout their lives and, along with his brother Francis, cared for them during their ladder years. John met Sheila Molloy. his wife 62 years, at an Irish Dance in Brooklyn. Before that night was over, they both knew it was a match made in Heaven. John was a devoted Christian, a loving husband and an adoring father to his son Tommy. He is survived by his son Tommy, and his daughter-in-law, Alina. He was a generous and compassionate person dedicated to his family. John always wore a smile on his face and never complained. He was the life of the party and hosted many of them. He accepted all of life challenges as the will of God. He loved professional baseball, travelling with his family, playing golf with his son Tommy, and treasured the years he was a manager of a Little League Team. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
