Dr. Mary C. McLaughlin was an eminent leader in public health, a former Commissioner of Health of New York City, former Deputy Health Services Administrator of New York City, and former Health Administrator of Suffolk County, New York. Through her vision, dedication, and leadership she bettered the lives of countless numbers of people and protected the health of the public. She mentored many students and public health specialists who today carry forward her commitment to public health. The world is a far better place today because of her presence.
