This makes me so sad. I had the distinct pleasure of spending several years growing up next door to Mr. Cook in Port Washington. He was awesome. Always the best. The coolest. Just a really good guy. He used to let me tag along when he was doing stuff and I loved it. I was a little kid, but he was always awesome to me. He had a green Datsun 280ZX, and used to let me tag along when we went out to run errands. I remember blaring Men At Work, "business as usual" when it first came out, driving around listening to it. I still love that album to this day. Every time I hear a song from it I think of him. I remember one time he had some family gathering or some party at his house, and he let me man the keg for tips, first time I felt like a grownup. I think I made $6 but it was huge money for me back in the day. he let me "caddie" for him at the IBM golf course near us a couple of times, which in retrospect was just an excuse to go out as screw around and have a good time. he was the best. I wish I could have a beer with him now and let him know he ruled, and I turned out ok.

I just heard the sad news about Tommy today. He was such a big part of my life growing up in Port and while attending St. Peter's. We had fun reconnecting at our 25th St. Peter's reunion and he was so kind to attend my mom's wake in 1998. I will always have fond memories of him. Keeping his family in my prayers.

Tommy, you and Billy Levitan were my childhood friends in Eastern Crest. I fondly remember our trips to the creek, where we built cities. Now you are surely in the most beautiful city of all. I hope to join you there someday. My heart breaks for all the people you have loved. You were the kindest kid I knew. My best to Nona and Nancy.

Tommy, I haven't seen you in many years, but will never forget our formative years on Jennette Drive. Godspeed, my friend. Your family is in my prayers.

The best co-head soccer coach a friend could have. I had the honor of being the other head coach for many years, who knew less than Tom, but our girls never had 2 coaches who cared and loved these kids. We had 4 of our kids playing for us at one time playing in a game. What a blast "Cookie". We both loved to harass each other about BC and ND. A big heart and a big smile, I will miss you my brother. For his wife Elizabeth and his girls, Katie, Colleen, and Annie... In the Bible... Joshua 1:9, God says..."Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go". Love you Cookie.

The world lost a good man. I have such great memories of traveling the country with Tom calling on customers, devouring great steaks, and even sneaking in a baseball game. Tom was a friend and a mentor. Condolences to his family; especially his girls who he was so proud of.
