ethel Hopkins a wonderful lady who was the driving force that kept jerry and the five boys in line. one day ethel called up jerry at work and said we found the house that we can afford, it needs a little work ( bring home your hammer and saw ) that's how she got things done.
whenever you talked to her she would put you at ease and made you feel special.
her legacy continues through the five boys and grand children, she will be missed, god took the best and we are happy to have known her.

In memory of Ethel Hopkins I’d like to share a very special moment held close to my heart for many years. Ethel and Gerald’s son Joey is married to our daughter Shanda. Joey & Shanda dated for a verrry loooong time and Joey had shared many of our family occasions over the years. When Ethel and I first met Ethel took me aside and told me how very thankful she was to me for taking care of her son and for our family’s kindness to him. That struck me as so unusual, so unexpected, and Ethel was so very sweet and genuine. She also said she knew Joey had to marry a girl from an Italian family because he loved Italian food so much! So now, in remembrance of Ethel, I would like to thank her for being such a wonderful mother and raising such a wonderful son(s). Joey has been a huge blessing to our family, always remembering special occasions and flowers for even me, his mother-in-law, all because of his mother’s grace and guidance. Thank you, Ethel! What a great family you and your loving husband raised! May the Lord’s love shine upon you and your family forever. Love, Miriam and Tommy Mangione

About my dear girlfriend Ethel. We attended St. Pancras grammar school together. Our school was 2 blocks from my home. I invited her over during lunch one day and my brother Gerald was home from the Navy..He was standing in the bathroom in uniform with the door open and coming his hair. He had large muscles in his arms and Ethel said "Oh my God he is so cute! That was the beginning. Wr enjoyed a lifetime of being good friends and became relatives. I must add everyone in the Hopkins family married someone brought up DIFFERENTLY. We the HOPKINS were realy the ones that were different! Our parents believed in not to worry and always laughting.
