Dear Pat and Ron's family,
I was in several classes at NYU law school with Ron and have just received the news of his passing. I knew of his illness and called his office to get reports but not recently obviously. I am very sorry for Ron's passing, HE was one of the kindest most generous people I have ever met. I heard so much about all of his family including his brothers' experiences in WWII I feel I know you. His loss is felt by many outside of your family but for you it is greatest. I am truly sorry. He will be remembered as a really wonderful person and will be greatly missed. None of us can hope for more.

Dear Pat and Family,
While Mary and I mourn the earthly loss of our friend - your beloved spouse and father - we take this opportunity also to celebrate our friendship and his life, well lived with loving personal relationships and high professional accomplishments aplenty. Our memories at this sad time are stirred with happy occasions of being together, filled with laughter.
When we lost Mary's brother, Father Andrew, a few years ago, we found at his bedside a simple prayer card from St. John Crysostom which I carry every day as a source of some consolation for the absence of my seminary classmate, my best friend and eventually my brother-in-law. I share the simple words of the prayer with you, in the hope it will help you, as it does me and our family:
"Those whom we love and lose
Are not where they were before.
They are now everywhere we are."
May my classmate, Law Review Colleague and good friend, Ron,
find rest in the Good Lord's embrace, and may you, his beloved family,
find comfort in sweet memories of many loving years together.
Fondly,
Joe and Mary Bellacosa (now of Ridgefield Connecticut)

Per my mother's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation. My Dad participated in their day care program while he was still at home, which gave my Mom a few hours of relief a week. They are a dedicated, caring bunch of folks.

Dad,
Please don't give God a hard time.
You were always superhuman to me and I miss you terribly. I am grateful that Mom and I were there with you.
Love you,
Ron
