It is with much sadness that I learned of Janet's passing; while it has been many years since we saw one another regularly, I will always be grateful for her friendship when our children were growing up together.
Peace, my friend.

It was with great regret I learned of Janet's passing. There are many fond memories of our freshman year living in the "Villa". Our good times and struggles to get through the nursing program. My prayers and good wishes go out to Janet and her family. God bless you all. Regards..... Jean Dunn Reid class of '73

I would like to send you my condolences on your profound loss.Janet was a great friend of mine and we had some interesting times at work. She always had a smile on her face and had the biggest heat. I loved Janet and I still can't believe she is gone. Her passing is a great tragedy felt by many people who also loved her and.She will be sadly missed by all.

I was lucky enough to live next door to Janet for 5 years in the 80's. I can still hear her laugh coming through our respective kitchen windows. We became close friends very quickly and after she lost her dear John, we were pretty much inseparable. Through the really tough first years after his death, we did so much together. Her girls played with my girls, my husband would do little things for her, and we would just try to be there for all of them. We were far from her only support, but when your homes are only 20 feet apart, it makes for a rather unique situation. Gradually, the laugh came back. Her complete and utter faith prevailed and she moved forward. My guess is she would say she had a wonderful life. And she did. And my life is so much the better for having had her in it. Keep laughing, McHale.

I had the pleasure of working with Janet these past nine years. She was one of those rare people who always had a perpetual smile on her face and a kind word to offer. She faced her life with optimism, wisdom, faith and heart. Her family was her great joy. She always volunteered to take the "difficult patient". Janet embraced life with passion and courage and will be missed by more people than can be imagined. It's a comfort to know she smiles on all of us now.

Mrs. McHale was one of the best people I have ever known. I met her at my college orientation when I became friends with her daughter Meredith. Since that day I have either seen her laughing or smiling. I have enjoyed all the times I have spent at her house and at Swordfish. She was the strongest person I know and I saw what an amazing mother she was. I am lucky to have gotten some advice from her as well. I will miss her very much.

My friend Janet was quite an amazing woman. I was blessed to work with her for so many years and be apart of her professional day to day encounters as well as maintaining a beautiful friendship outside of work. Janet touched many lives , she was caring and kind and genuinely concerned about her patients, family and friends. Janet was an angel on this earth and now an angel looking down on us from heaven. To Janet's family, may the beautiful memories you have keep a smile in your heart.

I knew Janet slightly for about 15 years as we passed each other in the halls of LIJ, so we were thrilled to find ourselves working together at CFAM starting about 6 years ago. We both worked the early shift at 6am w/ our other early-birds Susan, Mary, Carol, and Marty. We got to know about each other's families, histories and problems. And always, Janet was there for us, so caring about all our joys and sorrows - there to celebrate w/ us or say a prayer for our problems. And, oh how she loved her family - we heard about her children, her sisters, her in-laws and, of course, her cherished grandsons! Her smile was always beautiful, but she glowed when she told us stories or showed pictures of her little boys. She was a wonderful nurse, a special friend and an amazingly spiritual person. She will be so missed.

I had the distinct honor of having Janet as a friend and fellow nurse. She taught me so much through the years about compassion, caring, and faith. I know we are taught not to question, but Janet was taken from us to soon. I guess God had another plan, he needed another Angel to watch over all of us. Janet , I love you and will miss you . My heart is so heavy. I know you are in heaven and at peace. I love you, Laura

I had the pleasure of working with Janet. She is an angel. She was extremely helpful to my husband and I after our adoption failed. She told us to "keep the faith" that God has a better plan for you. Her faith was unwavering. She always knew what saint to pray to for whatever the reason or cause. I am grateful to have had her in my life. She has made me a better person by just being my friend.
