Dear Ann, I'm so sorry to learn of your father's passing. It was so clear how very much you loved one another and how close your family has always been. How lucky, and how much more painful for you now. My dad passed many years ago and I wish I could tell you that the grief goes away, but it doesn't. One day though, you wake up and the sorrow is not the first thing you think of any more - instead you think of the things that made you laugh or smile or light up inside. You get to experience the love all over again and the loss is diminished just enough to enjoy your best memories.
