Obituary of John Albert Cossman

John Albert Cossman of Great Neck, New York, died on Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was 82. He was born on May 1, 1935, in New York City. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary Roche Cossman. Loving father of Ann (Jonathan) Stewart, Kelly (Hans) Maloney, Deirdre, John, Mary Katherine Lewis, Margaret (James) Amorella, and Elizabeth.  Cherished grandfather of 15.  Brother of Kathleen Emmanuel, the late Eileen Burke, and Margaret Wilk.  After serving in the Korean War, John worked for the Long Island Rail Road as an engineer for 38 years, before retiring in 1995.  He also served as a volunteer fireman for the Alert Fire Company in Great Neck, New York, for almost 60 years.
