Dad it’s been almost a year since you left us to continue your journey in heaven. We think of you often, whether it’s when we were replacing the downstairs bathroom on our own or planting the garden, but especially as our children get older thinking of you at our age; what would you do? We know you knew how much we loved you but not sure how much we really appreciated all the things you did for us. You have made us realize that the way you know you have lived a “good” life is by the memories you leave behind. Thank you for your love, understanding and never saying “I told you so!” We are still working on that last one. You have given us the tools to know how we want to go forward. If we can be half the person you were, then we are ahead of the game. And if our kids can learn by example, then your legacy lives on. Thanks for being the man that people respected, the husband that provided very well for his family and the Dad that always tried to help us even if, at times, we weren’t always ready to listen. Well we are ready to listen, but you are no longer here. But we know you are looking down from heaven and we hope you are happy. Thank you for being the person we will always be proud to call our Dad and try to live up to your strengths and standards. Love you always Dad.

Dear Farrell family, It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we join in paying tribute to your father, John. Your dad will always be remembered as a very caring and helpful friend who gave abundantly of his time and knowledge. I personally benefited from these qualities over the years and will always be grateful and continue holding him in high esteem. We Finnegans were welcomed immediately by he and your mom, Eileen, when we arrived in Manhasset and the connection continued to flourish throughout the years.
