It is with a heavy heart that I learned about the passing away of Lucyna Jaworska. As a close familiy friend, Lucyna was always a source of help and advice, all in a tactful and sweet way. I have known her for well over thirty years, and my parents for way more than that, as they met in the sixties at the Institute of Aviation Medicine, where she and my mum worked, and my father underwent periodic health checkups as a pilot. She exerted good influence on my own life, at the time I needed it the most. It was Lucyna who put me on the path to a university degree, at the time when I was aiming to become a mechanic. She guided and advised me during my short flying career. In most recent years, when she was in failing health, it was an inspiration to see her dignity and inner strength when confronting the difficult medical situation. I will never forget my aunt's kindness. She helped my mom through a difficult time during which my father was sick and needed to be cared for. She not only provided help, but she also provided the emotional support that means so much! She was always willing to help others; I’ve heard stories when she was helping take care of my brother when he was little. May God give her eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the pain. My most sincere condolences. She will forever remain in our hearts. Joanna Kowalska with family.
