Obituary of Maureen Ann Kenlon

Maureen Ann Kenlon, of Manhasset, peacefully passed away at home on December 15, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones after a long struggle with Congestive Heart Failure. She is survived by her adoring husband John, four children and their spouses; John David and Pam Kenlon, Sean and Caroline Kenlon, Kerian and Eric Carlstrom, Kathleen & Dan Barry, and her beloved grandchildren; Kade, Brian, Sven Dylan, Sean, Kelly, Grace, Caroline Rose, Erin, Magnus, Jack, Kyle, Mary, and Erik Reid. Reunited in eternal life with her parents Charles and Margaret Kade, along with her loving brothers Charles and Donald. Maureen was born on December 29,1936 in Mount Vernon, New York. Maureen, graduated from Lenox Hill with her Diploma in Nursing. Returning to Molloy College in 1980 to complete her BSN. Her natural giving nature was evident in all she did. Maureen cared for her elderly father in the family home for fourteen years up until his death. Inviting John, a 9-year-old boy from the Harlem Fresh Air Fund to vacation one summer which turned into many more years of family friendship. She made sure to attend as many of her grandchildren’s events -even if she had to wear a mask- anything to be there! Known for her homemade pancakes, brownies, and of course her butter cookies! You will never find any better! Maureen touched countless lives with her kindness, love and guidance. Her simple Cardinal rule: “Be Kind” made EVERYONE feel special. Married for nearly 60 years to her best friend John, together they built their life on a solid foundation of love. Living each day to the fullest, with family at the center of everything they did.
