I will never think of you as Ellen, but always as Mommy. I took care of first Jim and you and then just you for the last 6 years. I admired your strength, your fire, and your unconditional love. I never expected to love you so much or to feel such incredible loss at your passing. I knew that you loved me whether you were telling me that the door was always open or not to let the door hit me in tha ass on my way out. Love always, Margarete

Dear Cousins, My heart aches for you. Your mom was the best! Thank you for sharing her with me and my family all these years. I loved that she was not only my sweet Aunt but my dear Godmother. I felt very special that she was in my life. She was at every important moment that I can think of: Births, Baptisms, Communions, Confirmations, Anniversaries, Weddings, Graduations, New Homes, and Family Reunions. She was the one that called you the next day after an event to say how lovely everything was. I loved being her niece. Both of your parents were such wonderful people who instilled a love of family and togetherness. And, you all have followed in their footsteps. Dear Aunt Ellen, We are sure you are at a big family party sitting around the kitchen table with a Manhattan or a cup of tea and some cold cut sandwiches singing family songs.
