You will be missed, Dear Cousin ~
As your junior by about 14 years, you were always so good to me. I remember going with you & John Pat ( then your fiance perhaps?) to a lake in a late '40s black Dodge, without a back seat; so I stood up for the journey. At the time I thought it was much fun ! That car eventually ended up in the Moore's possession & we affectionately called it "The Old Black Bomb" :)
Although I did not attend your wedding, I have a distinct memory of seeing your 8" x 10" bridal portrait for the first time. I thought your dress was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL I had ever seen ! The tiered layers of lace were SO GORGEOUS! I am sure because it was yours I loved it even more.
After I had moved to Albany as an adult, whenever I happened to be visiting LI, I would often call you for a spontaneous visit en route home. Although it may not have been the most convenient of times for you, I was always greeted with a warm smile, a cup of coffee, & a piece of cake. We would have great chats about our dogs, & family news, both old new. I was so touched last February when you called me in loving concern after having had to put down my mini poodle.
Considering your many life challenges, physical & emotional pain, and your undaunting Joyful Spirit throughout, you are undoubtedly a Saint ! I can almost hear God saying; "Well Done My Good & Faithful Daughter ! " Now you are with your beloved husband, parents, and countless relatives & friends. May You Forever Rest Peacefully in the Arms of Love. ~ Cousin Jane xo
