Obituary of Patricia A. McDonnell

MCDONNELL – Patricia Anne (neé Finn) of Little Neck passed peacefully into eternal life on October 19, 2020 surrounded by loving family. Born January 13, 1933 in Flushing, New York, daughter of the late John and Virginia O’Conor Finn. Devoted wife of the late John P. McDonnell. Selfless mother of John McDonnell, Jr. (Tracy), Bryan McDonnell (Margaret), Kevin McDonnell, Laurence McDonnell, Mary Fetzer (Michael). Loving grandmother of Brendan, Carolyn, Bryan, Jr., Caitlin, Meghan, Catrina. Loving godmother, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend to extended family and many acquaintances. Patricia taught elementary school for many years, followed by a ten-year career in college education. She was active in church ministry, community leadership, and charitable activities. Patricia exemplified a strong faith that nourished her unselfish, self-giving nature. Her magnanimous generosity touched all whom she met. The world will be a lonelier place without Patricia, but her example and loving memory will remain with us forever.
