Marcello was an expert tailor. Our family entrusted everything to his care over the decades. A true family man. Our hearts are with Rowena & Antonio.

Marcello was a quiet source of strength. He was greatly liked and respected by all who knew him. One time, in Junior High School , during a gym class game of Softball, he quickly and eagerly ran to his outfield position forgetting to bring a baseball glove. Of course, within a few moments, a fly ball made its way straight to him. Calmly, resolutely, he stood up straight , reached up, and cleanly caught the ball with both hands. I'm SURE he was in a bit of pain, but he did NOT SHOW IT. In fact, he SMILED, and EVERYONE cheered him for was seemed like a brave thing to do at the time. I was honored to continue seeing him all these years in Manhasset, and will miss him greatly.

In memoriam and with deepest condolences to the family of our long and dear friend Marcello Mirante. To his loving wife and son, Rowena and Anthony, to his dear mother Iris, his sisters, and the rest of his family, we want to express our deepest sympathies and most sorrowful regrets of hearing of the passing of our wonderful friend Marcello. He was the godson of my father Santo, and not just a friend, but essentially a "cousin" to my brother Mark and I growing up from the time we were small children to adulthood. It is with tremendous regret that we could not be there to pay our final respects and join with the rest of his family and friends in the formal ceremony and laying to rest of our close friend, but unfortunately my father and I are out of town and not able to attend. However, he and his loved ones are very much in our hearts, prayers, and thoughts. He was taken from us much, much too soon, and we cannot help but regret how much of a loss this truly is to all those who knew him. We can only trust in God's plan, and treasure the memories of knowing and having been privileged of Marcello being a part of all our lives.
Rest in everlasting peace and tranquility, our dear friend Marcello!
With love and respect,
The Bartolotta Family,
Sandro Bartolotta, Sr., Mark Bartolotta, and Sandro Bartolotta, Jr.

Condolences for the loss of Marcello to his loving Rowena, to Antonio, to his mom Mrs. Mirante, and to all the Mirante family. With prayers and much love from my mom Mrs. Teddy Bogner and me.
Marcello was the first kid I ever met who came from somewhere so mysteriously unfamiliar to me. Not just because he came from beyond our street, but because he and his family arrived from far-away Italy! Thank you Marcello for opening my eyes that kids from the whole wide world were kids just like me.
"Manny", as became his affectionate nickname to Marcello's friends on the block, will always be a special and a fondly remembered friend.
