Obituary of Susan Sanelli- Russo

Susan Sanelli-Russo, M.D., 62, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2022.  She is survived by her husband, Daniel Russo, M.D., to whom she was married for 33 years, as well as her three sons, Michael (Daniela), Daniel (Gianna) and John, and her two granddaughters, Elena and Clara.  She is also survived by her two brothers, Richard and Michael, and their families.  

Susan was born in 1960 in Queens to Rose and Michael Sanelli.  Susan spent most of her career as the Director of Neurology at Queens Hospital.  She also served as Chairperson of the Queens Hospital Ethics Committee for many years and Chairperson of the New York City Health and Hospitals Ethics Committee.  

Susan enjoyed cats, hosting family parties, traveling and the New York Mets.  She lived in Searingtown with her family for nearly 30 years.
