Marilyn Joan Herschlein

February 23, 1961 - September 28, 2023

In the early morning of September 28, 2023, Marilyn Joan Herschlein passed away peacefully in her Manhasset home after a year-long battle with cancer. Marilyn was 62 years old. She was born in Boston, lived in Watertown, Massachusetts, where she attended St. Patrick’s High School, and graduated Boston College in 1983. While in college, Marilyn met her husband, Jim, and they married on October 12, 1986. The couple lived in New York City following their wedding, and moved to Manhasset, New York, in 1991, where they raised their two children, Matthew and Megan.

Marilyn adored her family and was beloved by a large circle of friends. She was selfless in her care for and assistance of many. Whether it was golfing, skiing, boating, or going on a rugby tour -- if her friends and loved ones were there, Marilyn was sure to join in and to brighten the experiences of all around her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jim, their two children, Matthew and Megan, her mother, Marilyn Devaney, her brothers John and Tom and sister Susan, and many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Marilyn is preceded in death by her father, Jack Devaney.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 10:15 am at The Church of St. Mary’s, 1300 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York, with internment at Nassau Knolls in Port Washington, followed by a reception at Plandome Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Inner-City Scholarship Fund at this link: https://bit.ly/3EU3NZM
