June Wood was known and admired by Schreiber High School teachers for many, many years, particularly from the English Department. I, Janet Evans, taught in that subject from 1990- 20014. If ever I knew I was going to be absent, be it for a medical reason, a conference, or a personal day, I always requested June as my substitute. And if it were an unplanned absence, it would do my heart well to know that June was available to take care of my classes. I always received positive notes from June regarding those coverages, and -- most impressively -- the students never complained or gave her any trouble. Plans were followed to a T. Rich Gutlerner who retired from Schreiber in 2001 after 371/2 years in the district recalls talking with June when ever he saw her about a variety of topics, ranging from books we shared in common to theater experiences to politics. He was always happy to see her friendly face. Our condolences to June's family. We are grateful that she lead such a long life and were lucky to have known her.
