I will always cherish my first time meeting Alicia in person, after spending years speaking to her on FaceTime. When my family and I finally visited America back in 2018 her daughter Sofia collected us from the airport and brought us to their home. When Alicia seen we were outside, she came to the door, ran down the steps and blew past my sister just to run and give me a hug. We both laughed at the height difference and then she welcomed us into her home. The following morning, she made sure I had a proper breakfast. But as a very fussy eater I was very unsure of eating them plátano(which to this day I still say look like fried bananas), but Alicia made sure I at least tried them and it turned out to be nice. She was also all excited to show me around her lovely home and favorite places to eat around her town. Another very fond memory was every Christmas and New Year we would have a drink and celebrate on the FaceTime. You could see her beautiful smile while she said Feliz navidad mi amigo or feliz Año Nuevo mi amigo. Or our late night chats after I was out drinking and Sofia has to translate my drunk English into Spanish. This is something I will never forget and will forever miss.
Go dtí go gcasfar le chéile sinn arís. Suaimhneas síoraí mo chara.
