Obituary of Arthur R. Beil, Jr.

Arthur R. Beil Jr. of Port Washington, NY, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024 at the age of 90 surrounded by his family. For 66 years, he was the loving and caring husband of the late Nancy B. Beil, who passed away in 2023.
He is survived by his three children, Robin Mansfield, Randy Beil and his wife Susie, Chris Beil and his wife Maureen. Arthur is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Kristen, Colin, RJ, Eric, Mikey, Luke, Ryan, Kevin, Conor, and Mackenzie. He was additionally blessed with three great-grandchildren, Piper and Finley Foster and Willem Beil.
Arthur was predeceased by his beloved parents Arthur and Bessie Beil, and his two brothers Dave and John.
Arthur was a graduate of Brown University where he met the love of his life, Nancy. He attended medical school at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 1959. He completed his surgical residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Cornell Campus) from 1959-1965. Dr. Arthur Beil was trained to perform complicated surgeries on the lungs, esophagus, heart and other parts of the chest. At a young age, he became the Chief of Surgery at North Shore University Hospital a role he held for 17 years where he mentored and trained a great many surgical residents who are now some of the top surgeons in the area.
Arthur was an avid golfer and a member of Plandome Country Club since 1968. He was a huge sports fan of the New York Mets, New York Giants and New York Rangers. He will be remembered for the special times that he shared with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 11:00 am at the Congregational
Church of Manhasset, 1845 Northern Blvd, Manhasset New York.
