Mrs. Hanley,
You brought such love and enthusiasm to your classroom, and I was blessed to be a part of it. You inspired a love of math and the book of Ecclesiastes. I am sad to hear of your passing. You truly brought joy to those around you, showed us that compassion is a strength, and made us better people for having known you. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace Mrs. Hanley. There are some teachers that you forget, not her!!!!. I can see her right now looking at me in the class with a warm friendly smile. Always in my heart, never to forget.
For you my friend. Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I knew Nana Moe from the many joyous gatherings at her Daughter Mo Reedy's home. She was always holding court, seated in a place of access to everyone. She was always gracious, interested in everything, knew everyone's name and loved being part of any party, for any reason. Even as her health failed, these qualities never dimmed(except for the remembering of names!). May she enjoy heaven as much as she loved life, especially her Breezy days. My sympathy to all her great kids.

Mrs Hanley was not only my 6th grade teacher, but a friend and protector always. Her zest for life made me want to learn. She made learning fun with antics that got us all motivated in the classroom, even if some stuff managed to fall out the window!
My heart and prayers go out to the entire Hanley Family during this difficult time. I thank you, her children, for sharing your wonderful mother with me. I am so blessed to have been a part of her life thru all of these years.
I pray you are resting on the wings of angels and watching over everyone. It's time to rest now...
(I thought I posted.already, so forgive me if 2 posts show up)

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of my life long friend, Maureen Hanley, going home to God. We started out as kids in Rockaway Point, (my Mom always called her, "the little red head from over the Hill) and ended up teaching together for 35 plus years at St. Peter of Alcantara...she was an outstanding Math teacher, taught her students the meaning of integrity, loved her faith, shared many of her Uncles stories, embraced her Irish heritage, loved people and of course loved and was so proud of each and every one of her children, grandchildren and grand nieces. St. Peter's was never the same without her. Maureen, to sum up our time together, thanks for the memories...you will always be a part of me...love you!
To Patsy, John, and her entire wonderful daughters, sons and on and on...she and your Dad were treasures from God how lucky you were to have them in your life. May the road rise to meet each of you, Nana Moe will be waiting with a smile! Love to you all.
Sent this earlier...not sure what happened.
